Established for more than seven years, the Corporate Policy for the Eurofarma Fuel Consumption establishes the proportion of 75% ethanol and 25% gasoline to supply the cars from its fleet. The goal is to reduce the amount of CO2 emissions (the main cause of the greenhouse effect) and costs. Between 2009 and 2016, the measure enabled a 44% reduction in CO2 emission of the fleet.

Eurofarma is one of the only pharmaceutical businesses in the country to develop an inventory on the greenhouse gases in the industrial area. This is a fundamental step for the company to develop and improve domestic policies to reduce global pollutants, besides seeking Clean Development Mechanism projects (CDM). The study is performed according to the GHG Protocol methodology.

Inventory of GHG emissions – Sales Force

In order to reduce the amount of CO2 emission (main originator of the greenhouse effect) and reduce costs, Eurofarma proceeds with its Corporate Policy for Fuel Consumption, instituted six years ago, establishing the proportion of 75% of ethanol and 25% gasoline for filling its flee cars. For being one of the main fleet owners in the country, the indirect emission – not associated to the company’s industrial activities – is significant.  The measure led to a 44% reduction in CO2 emission by the fleet in the 2009 to 2015 period.

Eurofarma is one of the only pharmaceutical companies in the country to develop inventory on greenhouse gases emissions in the industrial area. This is the first step for the company to outline internal policies to reduce global pollutants and seek projects for Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).
